Cellulite Tends To Worsen With Age

Have you ever seen a fat kid with cellulite? It’s not likely… usually the skin of children is so elastic that it simply expands rather than dimples. It’s only later in life that we start to see those lumps and bumps that look like cottage cheese forming on our thighs.

So age is apparently a factor and with that is the condition of one’s skin. Older skin is less elastic and thinner… we tend to develop bad habits over time that can also contribute to cellulite formation through the build up of toxins. It seems that living a “clean” lifestyle all along is the best prevention for cellulite.

Is Cellulite a Skin Problem or a Fat Problem?

I just read an article today that talked about cellulite being a skin problem. Having excess fat merely makes the orange peel skin a bit more noticeable.

While that may be true (I’m not a doctor so I can only interpret what I read through research), I know from experience that when I lose weight my cellulite starts to disappear. So maybe it is a skin problem… but that does not mean that proper diet and exercise won’t help - they both help tremendously.

So what do you think… Skin problem or excess fat problem?

Common Supplements Provide A Natural Remedy For Cellulite

As many women know all too well, cellulite is a skin condition that gives the appearance of bumps and ripples underneath the skin. These not-so-attractive lumps occur under the skin due to an overgrowth of underlying fat cells. There are many natural remedies that may help your cellulite reduction efforts.  Here are just a few natural supplements that are believed to improve the condition of cellulite deposits on the skin:

Alfalfa - Known for its diuretic properties and interstitial fluid maintenance, alfalfa helps to reduce edema and swelling.

Bromelain - This enzyme is naturally found in foods, the most notable of which is the pineapple. It aids in the digestion of proteins which in turn helps to reduce fibrin accumulation in the blood vessels. This helps with blood circulation and keeps your skin rejuvenated.

Green tea - Green tea contains caffeine, a known aid contained in many cellulite treatments as well as antioxidants which help to quickly repair skin cells.
